Digital real estate to rent out, sell, or bring drooling sellers at your door

Here’s a story about my digital real estate … 

 

When I flipped mobile homes, I built an SEO-driven website.  

 

The goal: attract MOBILE home sellers -- in parks.  

 

(I was doing “Lonnie Deals” - Buy a trailer with my cash, fix up a little, sell on payments - I still hold some of those notes) 

 

I was the only one going only to provide a solution for these sellers -- hyper-targeting their home.  

 

So getting ranked was easy.  

 

And a whale of a deal landed with it. 

 

And a couple of others -- so the work and time paid tenfold. 

 

But when I slowly moved away from that, into flipping land… I had to do SOMETHING with that site.  

 

It was well-ranked, nice looking, and good copy.  

 

So I “rented” it out to another local mobile home investor.  

 

It was more of a handshake deal:  

 

“You land a deal, send me a check”.  

 

(Looking back… I gave the guy free rent) 

 

And when it was time to sell it off my name…  

 

I sold it to the highest bidder -- mobile homes were growing in popularity because of the ease in finding sellers and the nice little monthly paychecks.  

 

Anyway…  

 

The point I’m getting at is a good ranking site that drives traffic organically IS real estate.  

 

It’s an ASSET you can do more with -- Sell your unwanted leads, sell your traffic, “rent” space, sell the whole thing, etc.  

 

(There was a point where I was selling ad space on that site -- though it didn’t pay much because traffic was very small). 

 

But all this^ is really just chump change…  

 

There’s not a whole lot of money in “renting” out a site unless you’re in a HUGE area, or national.  

 

But there IS a ton of value in having something that drives the most MOTIVATED leads to your brand.  

 

These types of leads are the easiest to sell (from my experience and others).  

 

They can be bigger deals.  

 

BUT…  

 

They do come randomly and not consistently; they don’t come as frequently as something like targeted mail.  

 

(so don’t use it alone -- use other marketing channels)  

 

BUT…  

 

It lifts all “your marketing boats”.  

 

And produces an evergreen channel.  

 

If you’re not ranking right now… or you don’t have a nice looking site that looks like it was built in 2000 and DOESN’T repel a seller…
