Twitter peeps getting dumber?

I recently came across this Tweet:

“The Internet is creating a bigger and bigger gap between people who want to learn and those who want to be entertained”.

And I’ll add that “learning” and “entertainment” become a hazy line that a plastered drunk can’t walk straight on. It’s EASY to get wrapped up in YouTube shorts calling it “learning”. And even easier to put the book down after 3 lines and get back to “thumb scrolling”. Our “reptile” brain kicks in and wants to be “fed grapes while being fanned and entertained” by social media… It’s hard to break “comfort” actions.

So here’s a simple easy “trick” to getting an edge over others, widening the gap between you and competition who are mindlessly scrolling, and have intentional growth day after day…

Have a rule of reading a few pages every day.

Start with this list of books that I’m revisiting (or looking at for the first time):

  • Benjamin Franklin: An American Life – Walter Isaacson

  • Dream First, Details Later –  Ellen Marie Bennett

  • The War of Art – Steven Pressfield

  • The Dip – Seth Godin

  • Man’s search for meaning – Viktor Frankl

  • Titan – Ron Chernow

Speaking of discipline…

Here’s another system that keeps you in check so your reptile brain doesn’t kick in and ruin your business…

… and it’s found here, with my system for follow-up and drip sequences.
